Program Description

The Drug Discovery Program introduces high school students to the exciting world of pharmaceutical sciences. The program helps students discover their passion, build scientific confidence, and gain early exposure to one of the most impactful careers in healthcare, pharmacy.

The program adopts a hands-on, interactive learning approach that introduces students to essential pharmaceutical sciences and real-life pharmacy applications. Through engaging lectures, practical laboratory sessions, and creative mini-projects, students will explore various topics including medication formulation, dosage forms, drug extraction from plants, drug administration, and the role of AI and automation in modern pharmacy practice. In addition, students will also gain insights into business and entrepreneurial opportunities within the pharmacy field.

In addition to academic and lab experience, students will enhance their presenting, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills through a guided group project completed daily in dedicated sessions.

The program also includes a special Pharmaceutical Industry Venue visit, allowing students to see real-world pharmacy operations and understand the broader scope of career opportunities available in the field.

By the end of the program, students will leave with valuable scientific knowledge, hands-on experience, and a clearer vision of their future path in pharmacy and healthcare.
