Aspiring Physicians (AP) Program at Alfaisal University is made particularly for high school students, who are interested in pursuing Medicine as their future career, to help them discover their passion for it.

The program presents several biomedical sciences, taught in pre-clerkship years at the School of Medicine as well as advanced medical knowledge applied in clinical aspects. Our students get to study cadavers in the anatomy lab, and learn life-saving practices, giving injections, suturing, and many other clinical practices. Besides, the program introduces public health, research and the role of modern technology in the field. In AP, interactive and real field activities are highly encouraged as this helps our students acquire communication and various soft skills that will equip them properly to Med school.

Program Description

Are you interested in pursuing medicine as a future career yet want to discover it more? This program is made particularly for you.

Aspiring Physicians Program is a part of the Enrichment Program organised by Alfaisal University aiming to introduce high school students to the medical field to help them discover their passion and determine their future career.

The program adopts problem-based learning, which introduces the students to various common diseases in our community and helps them develop critical thinking. It focuses on teaching in an interactive, professional and amusing way. It approaches several biomedical sciences, taught in pre-clerkship years at the School of Medicine as well as advanced medical knowledge applied in clinical aspects. Besides, students are given the chance to study cadavers in the anatomy lab, learn life-saving practices, enrich their research knowledge, understand the role of technology in Medicine, and attend talks by medical graduates about their journey in Medicine.

Program Goals
  • Familiarise the students with basic medical knowledge, ethics and lifestyle.
  • Thorough understanding of the pathophysiology of common diseases.
  • Development of critical thinking and clinical skills through problem-based learning.
  • Provides deep insight into the role of technology and research in Medicine
