Program Description
A 10-day immersive space exploration program designed for high school students, delivered by Saudi Space Agency experts. Students will journey from the fundamentals of space science to hands-on satellite design, mission planning, and career exploration; culminating in a team showcase and an AUEP/SSA certificate.
Weekly Detailed Description
Week 1
Space Science Foundations
- Trace the history of space exploration and articulate Saudi Arabia's strategic role in the global space sector
- Navigate key concepts in astronomy, planetary systems, and the scale of the universe
- Apply fundamental physics principles — gravity, velocity, and orbital parameters — to real spacecraft scenarios
- Classify satellites by orbit type and mission, and connect them to real-world applications in communications, earth observation, and navigation
- Design a basic CubeSat concept, defining its mission objectives and primary payload
Week 2
Applied Space Engineering
- Identify and describe integrated satellite subsystems and explain how power, communications, ADCS, and payload interact
- Understand the physiological and psychological effects of microgravity on the human body and how SSA prepares astronauts
- Describe the role of AI and robotics in autonomous space exploration, with reference to real rover and ISS missions
- Build a complete space mission scenario — from concept and objectives through operations planning — using systems-thinking methodology
- Present and defend a team space mission proposal to an SSA expert panel and receive an official SSA Certificate of Completion
